what I like best about sex
I made a list of everything I like best about sex, and then tried listing what other people might like best. First is my list.
-losing control
-complete surrender to another person
-inhabiting sex-world
-touch
-feeling powerful by dominating
-transcendent orgasm
-enacting fantasies from childhood
-the smell
-how real it is
-feeling like an animal
-talking afterwards
-spiritual union
-forgetting myself
-transgression
-getting to know someone
-saying what I wouldn't normally be allowed to say
-vulnerability
-transformation
-seeing how it changes the relationship
-feeling used
-release of tension
-enacting symbolism
Here are a few that I imagine others might like best about sex.
-being inside someone
-the ability to hurt someone
-pretending to be someone they're not
-conquest
-being able to manipulate someone
-feeling dirty
I would welcome any additions to the list: please comment with your own motivations. I know everyone loves sex, and I know the basic drive has to do with continuing the species, but in real life, we have other reasons.

For me some things I love about sex:
The smell
The interaction of senses to arousal
The spiritual release
Yes, the process of arousal is great, and the whole idea of release is really important--physical release, release of sexual tension, release of relationship tension.
Talking filthy
Seeing a side of someone that most people don't get to see
Sucking toes
Yes, seeing a side of someone that most people don't get to see is an honor.
Here are a few of the things that I would list(although it seems difficult to add to what you've said already):
The feel of skin against skin.
That feeling of finally letting the sexual undertones and innuendos and feeling rise to the surface (perhaps 'letting the animal out' would be better.)
Control - giving, taking.
Sensuality.
Connection.
Yes, giving and taking control is one of my favorite things too.
getting so completely lost in someone. losing sense of time and place. becoming one with someone.
i've never had sex and won't til i'm married to the girl i'm currently with but we've experienced intimacy in a pure romantic way, and i can say that i've experienced this and a few of the things you listed like spiritual union, forgetting myself, how real it is, getting to know someone, seeing how it changes the relationship, release of tension, touch. i can't wait to marry her. haha.
